I know it’s a depressant, but when I drink alcohol my heart beats faster and quite hard, too. It freaks me out sometimes because when I drink I can often feel my heart beating hard against my rib cage.
I always thought alcohol would slow my heart rate, not speed it up, so why does this happen?
If this helps: My dad has high blood pressure, and my mum has low blood pressure.
I think there’s a fair chance I have high blood pressure.
